Even though April showers are supposed to bring May flowers, so far this May it’s been nothing but rain. So this month, my book recommendations for Book Club are easy reads for a rainy day – all written by my favorite funny ladies.
So curl up under a blanket in your favorite cozy chair with one of the following books and begin to laugh the rainy weather away.
- Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? Mindy Kaling is one of those celebrities real people can relate to. She’s hilarious and even though this is an older book, I loved reading about her pre-famous past.
- The Last Black Unicorn. No one makes me laugh quite as much as Tiffany Haddish. Watch this interview and you’ll be convinced to add this book to your list of must-read material.
- Scrappy Little Nobody. Following Anna Kendrick on Twitter is a must. Being funny in 120 characters or less is hard, so if someone can do that successfully, they can definitely fill a book with razor-sharp wit you won’t want to miss.
- Talking As Fast As I Can. Lorelai Gilmore is one of my favorite TV characters of all time. In her book, Lauren Graham makes me an even bigger fan. She writes like she talks and it’s the absolute best. I want to be her friend in real life.
